KitPlanes Magazine Take-Over and Alternatives

How many out there are in this boat?

About a month ago I started wondering whether my subscription had run out so I tried to confirm with the magazine, on line and by E-mail. The on-line login was broken (System upgrades by the new owners?) and E-mails didn't bring a reply.

After digging around and eventual old-skool picking up the phone I determined that the new owners had decided to stop the print version for foreigners like me citing things like cost and the mail being difficult(!?!?). I did not receive notice of this.

I have since found out from a reliable source that after the last hard copy issue in September the staff all resigned due to the direction the new owners were going.

The good news is that the aviation writers from Kitplanes and other publications who were taken over have come together to contribute to a new site AvBrief.com.

There is a section called "Experimental Aviation" and to my eye it looks like the writers from AvWeb, Aviation Consumer and other recently Belvoir titles are contributors to corresponding sections of the site.

Anyone else out there wonder what happened to your Kitplanes subscription?

I wish AvBrief.com well!
