Battery position

Hi all,
I have recently mounted an Odyssey battery (with a plastic case)on the front of Rebel 818s firewall. It is mounted on the right side between the upper and lower engine mount bolts in a fabricated aluminium bracket with an aluminium strap securing it. It is not in a box so isn't protected from heat. I've seen quite a few done similarly. Has anyone had any problems due to heat or the general environment inside the cowls? I will have a heat muff on the right exhaust tail pipe for carb heat which should shield the battery from some of the exhaust heat. Any comments will appreciated.
I connected up the LAST electrical wire yesterday!
Cheers Mike

That's where my Odyssey PC625 is, and still going after 10+ years. I bought a new one last year, thinking it might be time to replace it, but still have the original one installed. In the winter now, it turned over a little slower a few times, but never failed to start. But after a flight, it seems to have full power again.

Thanks Walter,
That's a pretty good testimonial.......I'll cross it off the list.
