[rebel-ramble] Rambler update

Post by Ken » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:48 am

Well that explains why we haven't heard any emails from Jim.

I'm sure we could have made Iroquois too ahead of the weather but
camping there tonight might not be too much fun. They may get to call us
wimps but we will see. A nasty squall line just went through Guelph and
it is not even the main cold front yet. Very reminiscent of Manistique
one afternoon last July...

Funny you should mention that.
My wife has been wondering around looking at the weather, mummering
something about Manistique most of the day.

[rebel-ramble] Rambler update

Post by Ken » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:48 am

It is pretty much as expected. Ducky is planning to head out later in
the morning to lunch at Lindsay. If wind on 31 or grass runway 20
condition makes us hesitant, we will stop at Peterborough. Should be
acceptable VFR to Iroquois this afternoon with 25+ knots tailwind. That
should also miss most of the rain today. Might have to delay leaving til
after lunch. If we need to stop at Kingston we will park at E. end of
ramp. The golf course restaurant behind the flying club has sandwiches.
Any word from how the guys made out in Iroquois last night?

Sounds good ! By all accounts, the 6 Ramblers in Iroquois
had a good night - taken out for dinner, and enjoyed a beer
or 2 .... ;-)

We're heading out to the airport in about 3/4 hour
or so ...

See you at Lindsay ! Tom will likely beat us ...
Fish is heading down from Parry Sound ...
Should all be there by 12:30 or 1 ....

My dad & I got home OK in the Zodiac. Visited an old gliding friend
of his in Hawkesbury, then continued on to Collingwood by 7:30 pm
Thursday. Stopped at Lindsay en route and happened to meet Bruno's
wife eating at the restaurant. Weather was getting hazy by day's end
but flyable.
