Update - motel, etc.

Post by Bob Patterson » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:48 am

Hi Ramblers !

Getting close now !! We're going up to pack the
Rebel this afternoon, so we can get an early start ...
to stay ahead of rain. We'll leave Lindsay as soon as
everyone is there, and we've had lunch.

It looks like we'll get to Lindsay & Iroqouis alright,
but might be there an extra day, if the rain follows
too slowly - we're hoping it'll pass overnight ! If that
happens, everything will just move back 1 day, and
we'll continue on ..... That's Rambling !! :-)

We just have to decide at the time .... when we're
all there - all part of the adventure ! ;-) Motel & van
rentals can be switched by phone, once we decide.

There is still one motel room left for Sunday night
in St. Raymond (or maybe it will be Monday night ...)
Still need someone to sign for a van .... guess we'll
decide on the way ... Monday morning we'll go to
St. Raymond to rent the other vans, after breakfast.

Monday breakfast will be a short walk to a restaurant
in St. Basile - not enough confirmations to guarantee a breakfast
at the Centre Nature .... especially with weather ...
We can have one for Tuesday & Wednesday, though ...

The plan will be to leave Iroquois, and refuel at Cornwall,
or Les Cedres, west of Montreal, depending on reserves. Some,
who want mogas, will stop at St. Lazare, north-west of
Montreal.... We then cross the VFR corridor through
the center of Montreal, at 1,300 ft., avoiding traffic at
Mascouche, and land at Trois Rivieres for fuel and lunch.
(There is a restaurant at Les Cedres, but it closes early ...
also, Cedres is only East-West, runway a bit rough, and limited
parking area ... sooooo.... maybe Cornwall is a better bet,
then no stop at Cedres, just straight through to Trois Rivieres.
All to be decided at Iroquois, when we do our daily map session ....

We'll discuss all the options, with choices for the new Ramblers,
depending on abilities & aircraft performance.

We'll all be talking on 122.75, except for various Unicom, control
zones, towers, etc. Also, we switch to 123.45 within 5 miles
of St. Basile, ...or 123.3 near St. Raymond.

Happy Rambling !!
