Hi Ramblers !

Received this note from Peter - we're invited to visit !
Might be an interesting side trip .... If we are delayed by
weather so much that we can't make Arlington anyway,
this could be a nice stop ...

Be nice to have Peter & Chris fly along for a while !

Hi Bob.

Just a quick note re. your trip to the West. We are very sorry not to be
able to participate in this Ramble, however, we can be of some help.
We now live in Pemberton, B.C., just north of Whistler. If any of your group
feel so inclined, they can fly from Chilliwack up Harrison Lake ( there is
an air-strip at the north-end, Tippella), then follow the power-line and
river to Lilloet Lake, and find Pemberton Airport ( 670'MSL, 4000'x 100',
paved) at the north-end of the lake. We would be glad to help with
transportation etc. . Find us or our glider friends at Pemberton Soaring
Centre, the most westerly hangar. If we are not there, somebody will phone
us. We live only 5 minutes away. BTW, the flight from Chilliwack is one hour
in a Citabria. There is a shaded camp-ground for pilots on the air-port,
with tables and fire-pits. I can arrange toilets and showers with Pemberton
Soaring Centre next to the camp-ground.
This would also be a good place to start your return trip from, with the
first leg towards Kamloops-Salmon Arm-Revelstoke-Golden-Calgary etc.
no high mountain passes into the Interior. We might fly with you for a
stretch.

We are not going to be at Arlington this year, since our resurrected
Pemberton Flying Club is holding their first Fly-In on July 14, and we are
very much involved. It is a lunch venue, with the local Lions Club handling
the food , available from 11 am to 3 pm. Our phone # is (604) 894-1524.
