Hi Ramblers !

I've posted the Ramble notice to the DCSOL site under FILES -
"401. Flight Seeing", as Rebel Ramble 2007 Flyer. It's a PDF
file, best downloaded & printed at your home - pretty hard to
read online. :-)

It's a first draft of the route, but unlikely to change
much, other than maybe starting a day or 2 earlier, IF folks
want to do that ! The option is open to end up in Oshkosh,
rather than Brampton, if the Ramblers want to - it's always
"navigation by consensus" ! :-)

At the moment, we get into Winnipeg (Lyncrest) on Sunday,
about noon - maybe in time for a lunch BBQ ??? Depending on
the group, we might be able to get there late on Saturday
afternoon .... Makes it tricky for the guys at Lyncrest !
What do you think, Jack ?? It's still a LONG way off, so
we have a bit of time for fine tuning !!

Hi Garry !

You could talk us into it, you silver-tongued devil ! ;-)

Not sure about camping there, but there are nearby hotels
& restaurants, and a beer store .... Meets our criteria ! :-)

Hi Bob,
Due to our distance from your location please take us off your e-mailing
list. We have dial-up internet and it ties up our system which is needed for
work.
Thank you very much.

Bob,Bob,, Bob,........The folks at Lyncrest can handle just about anything. Consider it a go, no matter what date. Lunch, supper, breakfast, all of the above. We'll make it work. Camping on the airport is great and there are nearby hotels and lots to do. We'd be happy to make a few suggestions. A visit to the Western Canada Aviation Museum should be considered. We'll look after transport. For the golfers there is the unique "FLy-in Golf Course" in nearby Steinbach (15 minute flight from Lyncrest) where you can reserve a tee time and the Pro Shop will even pick you up on the ramp with your golf cart.

Anyway, plan ahead and we'll make it all work.

Bob,

I have checked this out with our airport authority and the FBO and the
group is most welcome in High River for camping or any other kind of
shindig. There are lots of hotels and motels available, restaurants, and
such, close to the airport, and my hangar for anyone who needs to do a
little work.

The EAA Chapter 1410 (the chapter that brought the Lancaster to Osh)
will be interested in setting up a BBQ - schedule dependent I suppose,
and also wants to organize a homebuilt fly-in to coincide with the
arrival of the flight. This might only work well if arrival on a weekend
but one never really knows. There are lots of interested people here for
home-building and Murphys.

Our cross wind runway is in service as a gravel strip for now so we have
some definite one-ups over Okotoks. This isn't official yet but it is
real. Only problem could be around that time there might be a paving
crew working on it.

You would be amazed at how much development has taken place at High
River just since you were here with FOKM. A stop in both directions is
warranted and I plan to join the flight here to Chilliwack, then back to
Osh.

Let me know if you can change your itinerary to include our illustrious
location.
