Rebel Ramble 2005 - July 15th - July 21st

Post by Phil Stubley » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

Hi Bob,

Sorry to tell you but my bird is giving me trouble. First I did a hard
landing, fixed the gear leg, and now I have a bad cylinder. So will do a
compression check to define the problem. Then go from there.

Don't feel to comfortable about venturing far with a new or remodelled
cylinder, and an old geezer like me.

May try to fly with you for the first part. Tobermory, Gore bay and fish
and chips are close to home, (cottage) so may venture there.

Will let you know how the fix turns out.

Phil.

Hi Ramblers !

Sorry for the long delay, but lots of 'stuff' going on this year !
Just a short Ramble this time ...

We've finally settled on plans for this years Ramble - we're
going to try again to go North to Moosonee !! Leaving Brampton
on Friday, July 15th, to camp overnight at Gore Bay, then on
the next day for a Fish n' Chip lunch at Killarney, and on to
North Bay for the night. Kapuskasing is next, after a long day
of Rambling, with lots of stops. On up to Moose's Knee then,
possible RON, and back to Kap. Plan to get back home on Thursday
July 21st, then head down to Oshkosh on the 23rd.

Lots of details in the Ramble Notice, posted in the Flight Seeing
File area (# 401), on the dcsol web site. Please let me know if you'd
like me to email you a copy of the PDF directly...

Hope you can join us !! If there's interest, we'll have a Ramble
Planning Meeting at the RAA Hangar at Brampton Airport at 1 pm,
on Sunday July 10th.

The only maps needed are the US Lake Huron sectional, and
the Canadian Timmins sectional. You'll also need US Green Bay,
Chicago, and maybe Detroit, for the Oshkosh run. All available
by mail in a couple of days from VIP Pilot Supplies at:
http://www.vippilot.com/
or phone: 1-800-361-1696

Drop us a note if you can fly along !!

So...you're North Bay to Kap on Sunday?? When you hit Temagami circle my
place at least once and if I'm alive and kicking I'll jump in the plane and
fly along with you for a bit. Spent three and a half VERY long
(Wed/Thur/Fri 17 hour each) days finishing up the amphib installation and
flew it this morning for the first time. Hands off..straight and level. It
always turned left on wheels..beauty on floats and 850fpm climb at 1600lbs.
Looks like 86 to 90 KNOTS at 2500 Rpm.

Cheers and have a fun trip,

Hi Ramblers !

Sorry for the long delay, but lots of 'stuff' going on this year
!

Please let me know if
