Part 2 Progress

Hi Ramblers !

Just a quick update ....

Have spoken to the folks at Iroquois, ON - we are very
welcome there, but must follow local circuit & taxi procedures.
Will brief on these before leaving Brampton - no one one the Unicom
there to ask - nothing too unusual, but we <will> need our own tie-downs.
There's no fuel, but that's a good thing, as it's only a 2,000 ft.
strip. It'll be a short hop to Cornwall in the morning for gas !
The paved part of the runway is narrow, but the grass next to it
is exactly level with the paving, and smooth, but you can only
leave the runway in the center, to the ramp area. There are
turning circles at both ends of the runway, if you aren't stopped
by the middle.

Looks like John & Jo were right about this place - it
sounds terrific !! They have a beach for swimming, (don't forget to
pack a bathing suit !), walking trails all around the airport, and a
full facility campground right next to the airport !!
There's a restaurant within walking distance,
and a motel, if you don't want to tent under the wing ! Sure sounds
like a party is waiting to happen !! ;-)

Also spoke to M. Nicolas Boisvert at Drummondville A/P,
and his group will be awaiting our arrival on the Monday after Iroquois.
Camping at the airport is not a problem, and he will be getting
back to us later in the week with more information about motels
and restaurants in town. Another party coming on ! :-)

One thought - if you have an English-French dictionary,
or one of those Quick French Course tapes, it might be a good
idea to brush up on the old high-school French, since New Brunswick
is also a fully bilingual province .... It can be fun to try to
communicate in our other national language !!
"Djje paaarl fran-case trez beans, nes-cafe ?" ;-) :-)

More news as it comes ! See you on the 24th !!

.....bobp & Anna
