Hi Ramblers ! (and Wanna-Be's !)

Part II is the 'Ramble Down East' - the completion of "Dip a Toe
in
Both Oceans" !!!

We had our planning meeting for Part II on Saturday, August 9th.
After running through the proposed route, things to bring, and photos
of the first part, we finished demolishing the coffee, 3 dozen donuts,
and a box of TimBits !! :-) A surprising number of dedicated Ramblers
attended, and all will definitely be coming along !

Several things came out that will make this part quite different
from part I - notably, the shortage of airports with fuel ! We will be
stopping more often, as the Mini-Plane only has about 2 1/2 hours
range, as well. Almost ALL of the RON's will be camping, because
of the shortage of large airports and nearby towns, so we must be
a LOT more self-sufficient !! This means much more food bars, water,
pop, and "refreshments" to be carried .... ;-) ... And the chance
for more great parties !

One thing we tried last trip were "My Shower & Bath" body
cleansing towels. These are pre-moistened towelettes about 1/8" thick,
8" x 9", in a re-sealable plastic 6-pack. They proved to be GREAT when
there were no showers or water available ! Definitely will be handy
for this part of Ramble '03 !! Catalogue # 60-2525-S3 2 packs/$17.99 CDN.
You can order same way as the other supplements.

I've posted the meeting info to the DCSOL web site, as follows:

go to: http://rebel:builder@www.dcsol.com:81/default.htm
and choose: Files, then: 72. Flight Seeing

There you will find:

rr03-2.pdf This is the Ramble Flyer you can print out
and post so others can join us.

rr3maps2.pdf These are the maps needed - a package order
has been set up with VIP Pilot Supplies, so
you just ask for the Ramble Kit - K031.

rrsupps.pdf This is a list of things to bring, and also
vitamins, minerals, and herbals that can make
it a happier trip.

rr3rons2.pdf A list of the TENTATIVE RON's - Remain Over Night
stops. It is a bit more flexible than last part,
and may change considerable along the way !

rr3note2.pdf These are meeting notes from the back of the
agenda - not reproducing the agenda (if you
weren't there, you missed it !)

That's about it !! If you have questions, just drop us a note.

To check on our progress during the Ramble, call the voice mail at:
(905) 457-5238 for a quick Ramble Progress Update.

There will be an informal Ramble Kick-Off BBQ at the RAA-TR Hangar
at Brampton on Monday August 18th, starting about 6:30 - everyone invited
!!
Looking forward to seeing all of you at Brampton on the morning
of Aug. 24th, ready to Ramble !!! :-)

.....bobp & Anna

Rebel Ramble '03 - Part II - Details

Post by Peter & Hazel Barbour » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

Hi Bob & Anna,
Still here in Kap. as the weather is not VFR here. Hope to leave tomorrow
but the forecast is not very promising. If you have the estimated time of
departure for Sunday, we would appreciate hearing what it is. We hope to be
at our son's place in Caledonia for the weekend. His number is 905-765-8407.
If any cancelation or delay of the trip is necessary, please let us know. We
will tell you if we cannot make it from here due to weather. Looking forward
to getting together again. Peter and Hazel
