rebel-ramble Digest for 10 Jul 2000

Post by Jack Neima » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:45 am

Thanks Dave,

I too have been monitoring closely the Ramblers progress. Looks like
they've had their hands full with the weather and I fear they're in for more
grief today. We were hoping to join them in Winkler last night and we're
all packed and ready to go. It was frustrating because it was a beautiful
day here yesterday and a lovely evening. Ah well, "Time to Spare? Go by
air." ;-)

I don't think they're going to make it to Winkler today (Tuesday). The
forecast shows some really miserable weather this afternoon for all of
southern Manitoba. Looks like there'll be a line of thunderstorms extending
north/south and moving eastward with -TSRA, CBs to 45, low ceilings and VRBL
winds gusting to 25K. Ouch! Looks fairly clear in behind and the public
forecast for the rest of the week is pretty reasonable. We'll probably stay
home here in Winnipeg and fly over to Winkler in the morning. My guess is
they'll hole up in northwestern Minnesota tonight and pass through Winkler
around mid day tomorrow, a day and a half behind schedule. Bob kept talking
about the schedule being "loose". I guess this is what he meant. Oh well,
guess I'll curl up with a good book for the day.

Cheers! Jack C-FPXK

Hi all..

The Rambers have arrived into Ashland, Wisconsin. This puts them back
on "schedule" after being turned around by the weather yesterday.

Bob's message says that they plan to arrive in Winkler, Manitoba
tomorrow(Tuesday) depending again on the weather.

That's all for now..
Dave

The Rebel Ramblers are on their way for the day. Its 8:15 local..and they
should be in the air by 8:30. Next stop is Grand Rapids Minnesota. They
should be able to get at least that far before the weather from the Dakotas
moves in. Thief River might be possible too..I guess it depends on how good
breakfast/lunch is in Grand Rapids and how long the pit stop takes. Good
Luck group! And see ya on the backside!
