FYI. Note that Murphy says they have no instructions.

Hi Walter,

Unfortunately we do not have any instructions for this installaiton as we
only dealw iuth firewall aft. From what I understand the muffler pipes
are
labelled to fit to the correct cylinders. Once mounted the two halves
slide
together. Robin suggested using a torque that is the same as for the
5/16"
standard nut. As far as the brakcets, you will have to make some to come
off the engine mount and attach to the tail pipe to prevent movement,
however there is no one set method of bracketing. We cut the tail pipe
flsuh with the end of the cowl and found that we didn't need any rear
bracketing. As far as the muffler, the mufflers cannot fit inside the
cowl
and therefore have to be mounted aft of the cowl externally. We have
found
that the muffle doesn't quiet the engine much. I hope this helps,

Bijan

I bought your cross over exhaust system a couple of years
ago, and am now ready to mount it on the engine for the
final time. I understand from the email users group that you
now have instructions. I did not receive any when I made my
purchase. Could you send me a set? In particular, I would
like to know how to brace the tail ends of the pipes, what
torque for the manifold nuts, etc. Is it possible to fit in
a muffler? Thanks.

It appears that Murphy still does not have it's act together. Tech
support is saying that they are not responsible for the firewall forward,
yet sales will take your money for an exhaust system. I was give a 7 page
set of instructions after my system failed an i was told that EVERY
system they had in stock had the instructions in the box.
Has anyone received an exhaust system since May of '96 without the
instructions?

On a more informative note.
After completing and flying a Rebel, last night I took the time to make a
neat little tool.
It's called a hole finder. Take two strips of aluminum about 1" wide and
6 to 10 inches long. put one on top of the other and rivet them together
at one end(2 rivets). On the opposite end drill a hole through both
pieces. On the lower piece pop a rivet in the hole.
Now when you have to locate the holes when lapping two pieces and the
holes are on the back piece just slide the rivet that is protruding from
your tool into the hidden hole and now you have the hole duplicated on
the top sheet.

Is anyone else unable to access the web site at
www.dcsol.com/murphy.rebel?
Netscape reports "unable to locate server". Tried just dcsol.com and got
the main server directory but no rebel listed. Any thoughts?

Rich

Richard this works for me ..try adding the slash at the end if you have the
rest identical. Actually if the following shows highlighted in you email
handler just clicking on it should take you to the page.
