[rebel-builders] strut fairings

Post by Ron Shannon » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:36 pm

Hi Ralph,

They're fiberglass and, though I got them from MAM back in '06/'07, they do
evoke a nautical aura as you suggest. ;-) As you may have gathered from a
later post, they have a split flange on the back. I'll take some photos &
post them.

Sounds like you're a sailor. You probably don't know my wife and I sailed a
Tartan 37 ~14K miles in the Pacific for two years in the early '80's,
pre-kid. We've not had an ocean-going boat for decades now, and do miss it.
When we do get on the ocean every once in awhile with friends, we miss it
even more.

Ron

Ron - are those a soft plastic? How do they close? They look like a part
that would be used on sailboats. I know there is a sailboat that uses an
"A" frame strut shape as part of the rigging. These may be used at the
deck / spar junction. I'll do some research to see what I can find. They
look good and I would like a set as well.
