Over the last two days I have begun to receive all kinds of unsolicited
email which my server is blocking as virus infected.I was wondering if
anyone else is experiencing this as the addresses mostly appear to be
aviation related. Also they have attachments, the subject is re:your
application or thank-you...........Angus

Yes,I have installed them on my Rebel.I used 4130 with formed/flattened
ends and placed them from the front of the forward wing pick-ups through the
dash and fire-wall joining to tabs on a 4130 cross brace that stretches
between the top engine mounts.Am still planning to triangulate all of this
to existing bits of the conical mount.Machined aluminum spacers to go
between the gussets at the top attach point. The trick was to miss my radio
stack which goes to the fire-wall so I made up a funky jig out of extra bits
(Ford F350 running board brace and new electric stock fence posts with some
conduit, you'd really need to see it.)I will never use it again so it is
available.Or else you will need to buy a used pick-up truck, with running
boards, and get some horses then renovate your house to get all this stuff.
Used Greenlee punches to do the holes through the aluminum/stainless
fire-wall and dash.I have lots of pics (35mm) and will try to figure out how
to send them,or may have to ask "she who must be obeyed" for help.
Carm Titus also did his Rebel and if you go to his entry under
completions on MAM's site I think one of the photos shows the braces.

Regards, Angus

Hi Mike,

I wanted to bring to your attention that approximately a dozen times in the
last two weeks or so I have been getting mail in the personal mailbox section
of the Maddog!BBS similiar to the following:

4/18/2004 5:56 AM Norton AntiVirus detected a virus in a message you
sent. The inf ected NAVMSE-EXS1MIA@PUNTO-COM.COM

4/18/2004 5:32 AM e-Mail Virus Confirmation Receipt (smt1ccb.tmp)
MAILER-DAEMON@DCSOL.COM

4/18/2004 5:32 AM e-Mail Virus Confirmation Receipt (smt1cc0.tmp)
MAILER-DAEMON@DCSOL.COM

4/18/2004 5:27 AM e-Mail Virus Confirmation Receipt (smt1ca8.tmp)
MAILER-DAEMON@DCSOL.COM

I have not opened them, only deleted them. But I have no idea why I would be
receiving them via the BBS.

I do have anti-virus software which is kept updated and I frequently scan my
system for viruses, so I'm pretty sure that is not it. I'm going to assume it
is just spam from somewhere coming through the BBS. I have tried the anti
spam button on the personal messaging section of the BBS, but I only get an
error message every time I click on it.

This is not even a mild nuisance. I just thought I would bring it to your
attention.

The first message that you listed below is probably spam, but the others are
from my local mail server... I have the system configured to scan every single
message that comes into the system first thing... if it finds a virus in or
attached to the message then it just deletes everything and then sends the
messages you are receiving so you know where the viruses are coming from. The
number of messages with viruses has exploded in the last several weeks due to
the SOBIG virus. This really isn't anything to worry about since these are
just notices that the system is catching and eliminating the viruses.
The "Spam Filter" option that appears in the inbox is a relic, that I just
haven't gotten around to cleaning up yet. This manual spam filtering has been
replaced with software with AI that works pretty darned well. It's not
perfect, but when I first implemented it I dropped from 300 spam messages a
day to about 12! And the FCC just passed a ruling yesterday that will now
require all messages with sexually explicit content to announce in the subject
that they are. The verbage is defined which will make it easy to kill all
that stuff at the server as well. It's been a long road, and there's still a
lot of work to do... but we're going to beat this SPAM thing!

Thanks, Mike

Hello everybody!

A "different" problem today! Until my Rebel is complete (4,5 or 6 years ahead....) I owned a PA-22 Colt. It is always park in a "T" hangar (tube and fabric). In summer I remove the walls and the door so I just have the top (no sun/rain). Wonderful except... Thousands of bug looking probably looking for "warm air" goes under the top and then "shit" on the top of my wings! Thousands of little black point on fabrics. Someone know a "miracle" products to remove that? and that let the paint on the aircraft!
