I couldn't find a 1/4" eye ring either, but found a 5/16" coarse threaded
stainless one that has worked very well. My site is down at the moment, and
I'm a long way from home, so I can't look up the source, but will let you
know where I got it when I can.

MAM sold stainless rings welded on to a full threaded stainless rod. I
chose not to use mine although they likely would have worked OK.

Instead I used a forged stainless female threaded ring from Westcoast
marine and a grade 5 bolt. Both required a 5/16" hole. By cutting off
about a half inch of thread and using some washers I was able to get the
proper grip range on the bolt.

Don't think I did anything special with the seat pins other than
rounding and tapering the very end but they have worked just fine. The
rolled pins were fairly tight in the holes and have not moved.

or I've had good luck with stainless bolt style rings from West Marine for a

couple of installations. The sailboat stuff is high strength...

The seat tracks.. just ream the holes a tad until the pins drop in smoothly.

The split pin that retains the spring shouldn't fall out if the holes where
drilled the right size to make them a press fit.
