Battery and cable, 2 questions

Hi all,
Building 818R in OZ with an 0-320, Sky Tec starter and a firewall
mounted battery. Tony Bingelis seems to indicate 4 gage cable in his
Firewall Forward book for similar installations. Does anyone have comments
on the cable size, good or bad?
Temps where I'll be flying will range between 0 and 40 degrees C (32
and 105 F) and I'm thinking of using an Odyssey PC 535 battery. Who has
done this and how did it perform?
