[rebel-builders] Oil pressure line - restrictor orifice

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:37 pm

The landing as well, as the previous 2 attempts, in 40 gusting 55 not
favouring a tight strip in the bush made a little oil leak seem mute!

Yes... I was paying attention when I originally did my install. I brazed the
fitting shut and drilled it back open with a very small bit. Don't forget
that folks.. if you don't have the original lycoming restricted fitting in
the case be sure to make your own up.

I have a brass line... it has lasted 16 years vibrating back and forth..
back and forth. I've heard about just as many hoses bursting from rot as
well by that time frame, so it's catch 22 I guess. I reinstalled and took
some of the overall vibration length out by securing to the motor mount
about 8" back from the engine with a vibration loop in between. Before it
went all the way to the firewall.

:O)

What matierial was/is your pressure guage line and is there a restrictor
fitting in the engine.
