[rebel-builders] Back to Work - engine mount

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:36 pm

O-235 and O-320 both use the same mount. Only question is whether your
engine is a conical or dynafocal mounting.

[quote]Hello,
I have recently restarted working on my Rebel and would like to get
re-acquainted with the group. I have kit #266. I started it 18 years ago
(!). Like many people, life intervened the way it always does, and I put
the Rebel aside about 10 years ago. I have quite a bit of work
done

It's dynafocal.

Dynafocal is still available thru the factory.. lastest price, last month,
was $950 for the mount. You still have to buy the four x 94150-40 lord
mounts on top of that from Aircraft Spruce or similar.

There is also a gentleman on the email list that was building them as
well... but he's been quiet for sometime and not sure if he's still up to
the task.

Wayne,

Do you happen to remember that gentleman's name? Or do you know if there is an engineering drawing available for the mount?

$950 doesn't seem like a bad price, if I can get the factory to respond.

Thanks,
Duane Cromwell

Oh I definitely know his name.. just not sure if he's back to 100% health
wise or wants to take any work on right now. He reads the list...so I've
been leaving it to him to respond.

He's the only one I know of with a jig for the Dynafocal, other than the
factory (and myself).... and they had theirs first so why I've told people
so far to use them as I don't want to step on any toes.

Nobody has a jig for the conical mount, but myself at this point.. TTBOMK...
as the factory stated in the past that they lost theirs.
