[rebel-builders] Rebel Axle -- which is which?

One good hard landing will fix that Ben!! lol

The bungee gear axles have the stubs to drill through, as you have, between
the gussets for two bolts. The spring gear axles have those stubs cut off
flush at the mounting flange so they can simply bolt to the spring leaf with
4 bolts. I had the part number written down in the shop... actually I think
I have a parts list in a box with a set of wheels. Will try to get you the
part number in a bit.

One thing I've put off doing is an axle replacement for one side. The
holes for attach to the leg gussets were not drilled on centerline, so
when I put them on my gear legs, I get too much down angle on the wheel.

I don't know which axle to order. My plane came from the original owner
with spring gear (cessna style), which I sold to someone else and he also
gave me the remains of wrecked bungee gear. Although I'm told the axles
are different between those two, the axles that I received with the
wrecked bungee gear are the same as the axles that had been with the
spring gear I sold

The axle is part # LG-107-1 for the bungee gear and 1.25" bearing'd JDM
wheels. SG-11-1 for the spring gear.

[rebel-builders] Rebel Axle -- which is which?

Thanks, Wayne. Now I just hope I can get one from MAM.

Working on seats today. Sure wish the original frames were built a little
higher and while half awake early this morning I was giving thought to
cutting and redoing the up-posts to get more height. You see, I couldn't
possibly take the easy route and just add a pillow to a standard seat
build. Ha.

Using an Obus Forme instead of padding in the low seat back frame
extends it a bit higher and is very comfortable. Much better than a
pillow ;)

I assume you are aware of the reinforcing specified by MAM for the older
low back frames. I think even more reinforcing is prudent since even
some of the modified ones have broken.
