Floor Cleaning

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:35 pm

I find that good old clay based spill absorbent works pretty well at sucking
stuff up out of the concrete. Just leave it there for a few days/weeks and
scrub it around with your foot now and then.

Also, like Dave points out, many times fuel is your best friend. Fuel stains
under wings from leaking tanks/bladders etc. Nothing would ever touch the
stains on my old 182 after we'd replaced the bladders... well nothing until
I tried a rag soaked in 100LL and it came right off.

Polysulfide eater! Product Review

You should have a pretty good solution close by, I have found Avga$ to
do a good job on a polished concrete floor! Give it a rub with a rag
and wipe up the residue. You won't get everything out if its been there
for a while but it does a pretty good job.

Disclaimer, I'm using some very old 100/130 that I had left over from
another life when I raced cars. About the only thing I have left that
I'd run it in is a lawn mower ;-P

While on the topic of miracle products...

Has anyone found anything particularly good at removing stains from
concrete hangar floors?

I'm sure the best answer is "Don't make them!", which I've tried with
only limited success.

The main culprits are ATF, engine oil, outboard engine lower unit oil.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

John
