Weight and ballance datum

The cg envelope is 12" to 19.7" as stated in the construction manual, but what are they using as the datum? On the cg calculation page to compute empty cg the datum is the landing gear leg, but just want to make sure it's apples to apples, and that the max forward and aft limits are also referenced to the the gear legs and not the wing leading edge.
