We'd LOVE to have you, and any other builders down your way, come
to our meetings !!!
Maybe I'll give it a shot next summer sometime. I'll have to read up on
flying into Canada. I live in Ohio. It's about 300miles I guess.
Should be pretty fast - just fly over to Sandusky, then phone
customs on Pelee Island - about a 20 minute hop. From Pelee Is.,
just head east to Brampton - about an hour & a half, maybe, depending
on what you're flying, and winds !

Heading back, you can call customs at Sandusky with your ETA, and
just go straight from Brampton....

The 'door frame mod.' , and MANY others, are NOT official factory
mods (or even officially sanctioned by the factory) - they are just
common-sense improvements developed through field experience, and passed
back to builders at the Rebel Builders Meetings. The heavier channel -
ST-28 -> ST-31 (I'm not even sure of the numbers now, it's been such a
long time since this was suggested) is used in the stabilizer, so we
just order a couple of extra pieces for the door frames. Waaaay back
there, these frames were .016, then upgraded to .020, but most builders
decided that, since this area receives a fair beating loading luggage,
that the heavier material (same size & shape, but thicker) from the
stab. would be a better choice.
Seems reasonable to me! Is it just the bottom sill that gets this
treatment?
Most builders do the whole frame - it all helps !!

100594RB-3 Tail section reinforcement ??? Is that the extra
triangular
pieces on the sides ?? I don't remember THAT one by number ...(old age
??!!)

Yes thats the one. I didn't remember it by number either though. I was
looking through my files.
You're right, Joel !! Murphy has been a little lax in updating
the builders about SOME areas, in the past. I believe they have improved
the system considerably, now, so most people won't be left in the dark...
Well, I did rumage around a bit on their web site and found all the
bulletins they had listed. Don't believe there was any that pertained to
my
bird that they didn't send.

Hey, that don't sound too hard! Are you required to file a flight plan for
flights in Canada? Does Brampton have an airport identifier?

Thanks
