I haven’t built an elite. Had friend that did and as I remember they were pretty much the same. Others on this site will have more knowledge

Re: Elite tail and Fuselage wanted

Fingernails and patience
Sorry John, I feel your pain. As second owner, I started peeling plastic on pieces in my kit in 2007; original owner took delivery in 1990 ish. #207. Craig

Re: MAM factory extended wing tips

If I remember correctly, the factory tip needed some support structure built before fitting. Someone can verify this. The fife tips, while hard to get sometimes, are a bolt on. And I don’t know about other’s experiences but they we also way better quality than Murphy’s. I gave mine away. Craig

Re: Fuel cost shock

Wow! We have $6.58 here and I thought that was high. Not that I’ve bought any in a while. Lol. Hopefully I’ll get to feel angry about avgas soon. Haven't flown since Oct ‘19 Two years ago gas prices were “reasonable” and the US was exporting energy. Now the Biden administration has severely crippled...

Re: Kitplanes Article

Good article. I wouldn’t mind doing some flying in that area. Used to spend a lot of time in the Cedar City, Navajo Lake area camping with my kids. Your plane looks great. CW

Re: Fixing miss-drill

Yes, almost every part in your kit can be made with a hammer, brake, and some aluminum. A router with a pattern bit, some mdf, and a spindle sander are also helpful. Glad you got it figured out!

Re: Fixing miss-drill

The piece looks to be a channel so some sort; if so, it seems it would be loaded like a beam, in tension on one side and compression on the other. The force on the rivet would be a stretching, not a shear. Craig
