Alternator cooling

Post by mikeh » Sat Aug 21, 2021 1:57 am

Hi all,
We are about to upgrade our accessory case mounted alternator with a 40 amp B&C unit on our 0-320 Rebel. What are your thoughts on cooling it? Does it need a blast tube?
All comments appreciated.
Thanks, and Cheers from OZ.

Mike,
Absolutely. They are generating electricity and heat so cooling is important.

Hi all,
Just to follow up. I asked B&C about this and they tell me this alternator has internal cooling fans and they don't recommend a blast tube...........One less job to do!
Cheers
Mike
